Travel Tip &#8211;\u00a0<strong>Remember to pack the essentials<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is a simple travel tip on what to pack. While simple, it could be a separate article in itself, because it&#8217;s so important. This is why I\u2019ve put it first on this traveling tips and tricks list. While I don\u2019t have any travel tips on what to pack exactly, here is some key advice.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you are packing for your trip, do a mental inventory of two things:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Common situations you\u2019ll be in<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What \u201cthings\u201d you\u2019ll need in each situation<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, if you\u2019re traveling with only a backpack by trains, busses or planes, imagine yourself on an overnight train &#8211; what will you need?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most overnight trains provide bed linens and a blanket. This can be a helpful travel tip to remember.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While I can\u2019t offer any tips on how to travel light, it\u2019s helpful to remember that there are a few essentials you can focus your attention on, and worry les.s about everything else.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can\u2019t buy the following things while abroad: your <\/span><b>passport<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>driver\u2019s license<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, certain <\/span><b>medications<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>medical appliances<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (mouth guards), <\/span><b>contact lenses<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>glasses<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and sometimes even an <\/span><b>English-language book<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (depending on the country you\u2019re visiting, some have limited selections of English-language literature).<\/span><\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be sure to pack the <\/span><b>essentials<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and take <\/span><b>fifteen minutes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> each day for a couple of days before you leave to ensure you\u2019ve remembered everything you\u2019ll need.\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The day before your departure, double-check you have your essentials, read this list of travel tips one last time, let go of your worries, trust that you have everything you need and set off. No one wants to end up in a hotel or hostel that doesn\u2019t feel safe, sanitary or comfortable.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a result, it\u2019s common for travelers to choose more expensive accommodation or travel options to ensure they&#8217;ll be happy with their accommodation and how they\u2019re getting there.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the same time, going over budget can be stressful. Fortunately, there are some simple ways of checking what you\u2019re getting yourself into before choosing a hotel, train cabin class, tour or anything else.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">My first travel tip here is to\u00a0<\/span><b>read the reviews<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. If you\u2019re on a budget and you\u2019re using one of the online booking platforms like Airbnb or Booking, the best way to understand the standards and quality of an accommodation before booking it is by taking a few minutes of reading the reviews of each place you are considering.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It seems no single place will please 100% of the guests that stay there. However, if an accommodation has a <\/span><b>pattern of low reviews<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with different guests complaining about the same problem, it\u2019s likely the problem truly exists.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s likely the negative reviews aren\u2019t just the result of some guests who were having a bad day. If their complaints are about an issue that could bother you as well, take note.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remembering this travel tip can save you a major headache. Renting from a local via a booking platform can often be cheaper and more comfortable than a hotel. Plus, you get to live amongst residents and get a taste of local life.\u00a0<\/span><b><\/b><\/p>\n<h3>4. Travel Tip &#8211;\u00a0<strong>Have a way to call home<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You may not be interested in nor worried about calling home while you\u2019re abroad. After all, with wifi and calling apps, it\u2019s practically free to connect with most people back home. But, not all. They may suspect it\u2019s been stolen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While you can contact your bank before you leave and let them know where you\u2019ll be traveling so they won\u2019t block your card, it can still happen, especially if you make large purchases abroad.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are several cases in which you need to contact a landline back home to sort out a banking, ticketing or any other issue. Many companies offer customer service via Facebook, Viber or other chat services, but in many cases, such a chat or wifi calling app doesn\u2019t suffice.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Picking the Right International Calling App<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is an important tip for when you travel.
